Two forms will be required at check in: 

1) Referral letter/note from your provider stating the need for blood phlebotomy due to elevated/rising hemoglobin levels. 

2) lab results with  hemoglobin level 

*both forms need to be dated less than 6 months old. 

Eat a small healthy meal and drink plenty of water prior to your appointment. This will help with dizziness and prevent you from passing out.  

Usually patients feel fine after Therapeutic Phlebotomy, but if you do feel faint or fatigued, we will simply have you lie down until you feel better. A snack and drink will be provided before and after your procedure. 

For an additional cost, we also have IV fluids with vitamins/medication we can give immediately after,  to help you recover even faster with a boost of energy! 

Up to 1 pint will be drawn at your appointment.  The amount is usually determined by your wieight and provider recommendation.  Staying hydrated and eating a small healthy meal prior to and after your appointment will help tremendously with the process. 

Payment will be taken at time of check in.

*Blood Pressure/Heart Rate  will be completed.

*A medical consent form will be reviewed and signed.  

*A Discharge Summary/After Donation Instruction Sheet will be reviewed and given to you to take home. 

Collection Process

1) You will lie down on an examining table or sit back in a reclining chair. 

2) Blood Pressure and Heart Rate will be taken.

3) A needle is placed in a vein in your arm which is connected to a tube and collection bag. 

4) Between 250ml-500ml of blood is extracted. 

5) Blood Pressure and Pulse will be taken again.

6) The needle is removed and a bandage is applied 

As often as every few weeks. Appointments may be scheduled on a regular basis such as monthly or as needed. Your referring  Doctor will determine this. 

Yes!  We offer IV vitamin hydration/medication services at a discounted cost.
